Our family celebrating my 15th marathon!
MJ and Hannah (Lindsey's daughter)
Saturday morning, Steve dropped me off and I rode with Lindsey and Joe to the starting line. I have run a few marathons within 3-4 weeks off each other, but I have never run two this close together (Chattanooga was only 13 days prior)…I have to be honest, I was a little worried about how my legs would hold up. It was really a great race- the majority of it was very pretty and the course was nice and flat. Here are a few pics:
Waiting for mommy…
Here she is!
Thankfully, my legs held up surprisingly well and I was happy to finish in a pretty decent time. Marathon #15 is officially in the books!
Lindsey, Joe (who finished an incredible race- a sub 3:00 marathon!!! Awesome!), me, and Steve
Thanks for your support, mom and dad!
After the race, we went back to the hotel so I could clean up and get ready to go out for a late lunch/early dinner to celebrate MJ’s FOURTH birthday! (His birthday was actually Monday – stay tuned for the bday post). We went to a fun place called the Crab Shack on Tybee Island where they have tons of alligators – we were supposed to be able to feed them, but unfortunately it wasn’t feeding time… The kids still had a ball.
And Steve enjoyed teasing the boys with his seafood platter:
After dinner, we went to Gigi’s cupcakes – they even put a candle on MJ’s cupcake so we could sing happy birthday to him!
We went back to the hotel, watched some football, and passed out. Steve had to fly out of Savannah early Sunday morning for a meeting in Chicago, so after breakfast the rest of us got in the car and headed back home. It was a great trip!
Oh Jules! I loved the pictures of the kids seeing you! MJ looks soooo excited!
ReplyDeleteI am so impressed that you just ran your 15th marathon! Go Jules! I'm also impressed that you can run with your hair down. I know yours is shorter than mine, but still... no way I could even attempt that. :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the marathon! That was a precious picture of MJ and Ty greeting you as you ran by!
ReplyDeleteLove the post! Great pictures of y'all in Savannah. The boys faces in the crab shack ones are priceless. So good seeing you. Love you.
