Happy Easter!

Happy Easter!

Last Easter, we announced that we were pregnant with baby Eco #2. What a difference a year makes! We spent Easter weekend up at the lake with both of our families- it was a wonderful little get away. The boys had a blast riding on the boat and hunting for Easter eggs!

I like the orange one!

Am I the only one who thinks the little tablets are confusing?? As you can see from the picture above, we only guessed two of the colors right. What appeared to be the yellow tablet was actually green and the "blue" tablet was really orange! haha

MJ went on atleast 3 Easter egg hunts this week- one at school, one at my parent's house and the other at Steve's parent's house. We have more easter baskets than we know what to do with!

I found another one

Can I find some eggs, too??

Here are a few pics from swim class this week....

Don't let me go, mommy
I did it!

Potty Training

I'm in my Spiderman underwear!

MJ had his preschool spring break 2 weeks ago, so we used the opportunity to start potty training. I realize this is going to be a long process, but I am very proud of the progress he's made. He now does both #1 and #2 on the potty. We use diapers/pull ups during nap and bedtime and try to keep him in his "big boy underwear" the rest of the day. He still has some accidents, but he's really done great. It will be nice to have one out of diapers!

A special thank you to Ms. Lisa, our wonderful nanny, for all of her help with the potty training- chasing a 2 year old in his dirty underwear is not an easy task! :)

Daddy and the boys

MJ started his swim class at our local YMCA yesterday. He loves the water, but he's not crazy about dunking his head under yet. I swam with MJ while Steve swam with Ty on the other side of the pool. Ty was kicking around like a pro and loved it!

Between birthday parties, baby showers, trips to the zoo, etc., the past couple of weeks have been busy as usual. The weather has been great (except for some nasty evening thunderstorms), so we have been outside as much as possible!

Going for a walk

Mom, I know you begged me to stop, but I'm going to shine this flashlight in my eye one more time

Here are a few pictures of our trip to the zoo last week...Grandma and Granddad Engle joined us!

Thanks for the ice cream, Grandma

6 Month Update - Breakthrough!

6 Months Old

It's hard to believe that half a year has gone by since Ty came into this world. On one hand, it seems like yesterday; on the other, it feels like he has been a part of our family forever. He has brought us so much love and happiness over these past few months.

Sleeping: He still sleeps great; 11-12 hours per night with two naps (about 1-2 hours each) during the day.

Eating: like crazy! We have successfully made it through all of the stage 1 baby foods and are moving onto stage 2. He eats 36-40 ounces of breastmilk/formula per day plus three "meals."

Accomplishments: He transfers an object from one hand to the other and can sit up for a short period of time (before he falls forward)

Breakthrough: His two bottom teeth broke through last week! There was a lot of drool, but he did great.

Stats: He weighs 17lbs 14oz (60%) - he was in the 30% two months ago! His height is 27.5 inches (85%). The pediatrician couldn't believe how much he had grown!!!

This past weekend was absolutely gorgeous, so we decided to climb Stone Mountain. MJ made it all the way to the top by himself! Steve did carry him at a couple of the steep parts, but for the most part he did it solo. I carried Ty in the baby Bjorn, and he had a blast!! Here are some pics...

We made it, daddy

Hey mom, thanks for carrying me!
