Cabo and Mother’s Day
Steve had a business meeting in Cabo last week and I was fortunate enough to be able to join him. I flew over there on their last full day of meetings – we had a lovely dinner with the group (the same group we met in Barbados last year and Turks and Caicos the year prior). The restaurant was gorgeous with an unbelievable sunset.
The next day, we left the hotel where the group was staying and headed over to the Esperanza (where we stayed for our honeymoon almost nine years ago). Let me just tell you – the Esperanza is on a whole different level than any place we have ever stayed. Within moments of us arriving, they had fresh mimosas and tropical fruit sent to our room. We headed down to the pool, where they immediately brought us drinks and a masseuse from the spa came over to give me a complimentary foot massage. And that kind of pampering lasted the entire length of our stay.
We spent pretty much every day just relaxing by the pool, taking walks on the beach, and eating delicious Mexican food. It was paradise.
I hated to miss Mother’s Day with the kids, but this wasn’t a bad way to celebrate!
It was just as incredible as it was nine years ago- maybe we’ll be back on our 18th anniversary! :)
Ms. Lisa and my parents were kind enough to watch the kids while we were gone (THANK YOU!). My mom filled in for me at MJ’s Mother’s Day celebration at school where they planted some flowers for me:
The kids had a great time up at Grandma and Granddad’s house over the weekend where they made cookie pops, drew on the chalkboard wall, and played with all the new toys in the basement (which has been transformed into a playroom for them!).
We celebrated Mother’s day when I got home – I was showered with gifts from each of the kids (a birdhouse from MJ, flowers from Ty, and a Pandora charm from Catelin). It was a wonderful vacation – and an even more incredible Mother’s Day.
